Bank Negara Malaysia Internship Programme 2026
You will join one of the many departments, working at Bank Negara Malaysia’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur for three to six months at the heart of the Malaysian economy. In this role you may be involved in key central banking functions like surveillance, research, policymaking, banking supervision, analytics, operations, and tech, amongst others.

Our structured internship programme will give you a first-hand experience with what we do at the only central bank in Malaysia. At the end of your internship, high-performing interns may receive a fast-track invitation to interview for our Kijang Graduate Program.

Internship requirements:
- Currently residing in and is a citizen of Malaysia
- Malaysian pursuing an undergraduate degree in higher learning institutions, either in Malaysia or overseas, in disciplines related to Bank Negara Malaysia where internship is a mandatory part of course completion. Students must be in final year of studies.
- CGPA of at least 3.50 and above or a second class upper (2:1) final degree classification, or a WAM of 75% in an undergraduate or masters’ degree in any discipline from a reputable academic institution
- Internship duration for a minimum of three (3) months and maximum of six (6) months
Terms and Conditions:
- The application is open subject to role requirement and availability
- Application must be submitted three (3) months prior to the commencement of internship period.
- Only successful candidates will be notified for internship placement
- Only online applications submitted via Bank Negara Malaysia careers portal will be entertained. Postal / courier /email applications will not be processed
- Bank Negara Malaysia will access all candidates equally with offer extended only to those who meets the requirements

If your application is successful, you will be required to pass a medical check-up and a security vetting process. Interns will receive an allowance of RM1,700.00 per month.
Interns will be placed throughout departments across Bank Negara Malaysia depending on the availability of places. We will attempt to place you in a suitable department based on your preference and academic qualifications where you will be able to contribute sufficient impact and gain valuable experience.
